Sign in Iowa Compares Obama to Hitler

According to an ABC News article

"A billboard created by an Iowa tea party group that compares President Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler and Vladimir Lenin is drawing sharp criticism — even from fellow tea party activists who have condemned it as offensive and a waste of money."

What I don't understand is why people are actually criticizing the billboard. Sure, to compare anybody to Hitler is an insult without a doubt. But are we so thin-skinned modern day hand-wringing puritan wimps that we can't draw literal historical comparisons to leaders of yesteryear? Leaders that, if you knew your history, you'd know drove certain movements in their homeland in order to change its fundamental beliefs. Obama is after all quoted saying, "we are no longer a Christian nation". Which is hogwash if you study your American history and its founding principles. Obama is quoted as saying, "and you and I together we will change this country, we will change this world." Obama is quoted as saying, "Change is coming to America". Catholic priests in Notre Dame are swooning over Obama the way some Catholic priests and bishops did for Hitler.

Let's look closer at some of Obama's quotes and actually compare them to what the leaders in this billboard said, and ask yourselves, is this billboard "a waste of money"?:

“All propaganda has to be popular and has to accommodate itself to the comprehension of the least intelligent of those whom it seeks to reach.”
— Adolf Hitler

“I use emotion for the many and reserve reason for the few.”
— Adolf Hitler

“[People in small towns] get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy towards people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”
— Obama

"The best way to destroy the capitalist system is to debauch the currency."

- Vladimir Lenin

"The Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them."
- Vladimir Lenin

"It's not that I want to punish your success; I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you that they've got a chance to success, too. I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."

- Obama

"Capitalists are no more capable of self-sacrifice than a man is capable of lifting himself up by his own bootstraps."
- Vladimir Lenin

"I do think at a certain point you’ve made enough money."

- Obama

"Freedom in capitalist society always remains about the same as it was in ancient Greek republics: Freedom for slave owners."
- Vladimir Lenin
